Update: The YouTube app is officially back on Fire TV. You can download the app by just saying the app name in your FireTV remote voice search. If not, you can find it on the Amazon Appstore here. The app supports up to 4K HDR video at 60fps and is compatible with Alexa, so you can search, start playing, and control playback with voice commands.

In this quick post we detail a workaround to get YouTube on your Fire TV.
  1. Download any browser available from the amazon fire tv appstore. Some noteworthy ones are Internet(previously Silk) which comes pre installed on Fire TV and Firefox which can be downloaded by just saying the app name in your Fire TV remote voice search
  2. Then browse http://youtube.com/tv by typing the url.
  3. Now you should be able to use youtube on Fire TV devices using your Remote.
