In this post we look at an app that has proved itself imminent for the smooth functioning of android devices around the globe, more so, if your device has limited resources(RAM, processing power etc). The app is named Greenify  and offers users the privilege to free up system resources, by closing an app and suspending its processes from popping up until the user/his actions demand it explicitly. Unlike most other task killers this app does not kill an application or quit its activity from memory. The idea here is to 'hibernate' an app, i.e. put the app to sleep(does not use the memory), and hence has no access to device actions/processor and memory.
If an app is hibernated, you will not receive any push notifications from the app.
Greenify by default can hibernates only apps that are installed by the user. Within experimental features, it provides an option to hibernate system apps (at your own risk) which is available for paid /donate users only. This ability to hibernate apps completely makes Greenify unique in its ability to save battery unlike apps that offer similar functionality.

There are two widgets and two contextual app options by Greenify. They are listed below:
  1. Hibernate + lock screen : Hibernates apps and screen is locked thereafter.
  2. Hibernate : Hibernates apps.

Further details on how to get started with using greenify can be found here.

That's all for now!
